Dear —–,

I am applying for the *** internship of your company. I understand that your firm is the leading export of Accounting in the United States. I am very interested in developing my skills in this field and would like to work for your company through a summer internship.

I graduated Gyeonggi Buk Science High School which is one of special-purpose public school for students interested in science. I graduated and got accepted to KAIST which is highly competitive university. Even though I putted myself in the scientific field, I was always interested in business field and selected Industrial Engineering as my major. I have just finished my third semester, in the course of which I became deeply interested in Financial Management. I’ve done research about CPAs and I decided to be an accountant. I am preparing for CPA exam and I have very high arithmetic skill and have an analytical & systematic way of thinking. I am also multi-cultural and can easily adapt with people from different culture. I have been stuck to academic environment for a long time and I am very excited to taste the professionalism in real life. I am willing to work hard and work as a team in any environment.
I will be leaving for LA next week and would be ready for an interview.

I will respond promptly with any additional materials you may need and would welcome the opportunity to further discuss my qualifications. Please feel free to contact me through email at annietabio@yahoo.com

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Annie Han

Okay. I have never done this kind of thing and this is my very first resume & cover letter.
If you want to rephrase any grammer error, misplacement or awkward sentence, you are more than welcome!
But most importantly, since I leave next week, I can’t send this to America. It would take weeks.
Anyway I got the Big4′s E-mail and career website. But, don’t I need to send them a high school diploma or the evidence that I am attending college? Also, typical cover letter includes signature. So should I ‘print->sign->scan->signed cover letter’?
Thank you in advance. :)

Annie,

Under skills delete the first line regarding arithmetic. This is not needed.

I would leave out the web sites for Kaist as well as the description since you haven’t yet graduated.

You don’t need to bring a high school diploma. A current transcript wouldn’t be necessary at this point. Overall fantastic job – far better than most Americans.

How should I spend 00 to better my current life situation?

The question

Hello,

I am seeking some opinions on how I should manage some lump sum funds (that do not need to be paid back) I have coming soon. I have $ 2500 this Nov and $ 4500 Feb 2011.

My current situation:

I am a 26 year ancient full-time customer service employee and also a full time college student. I live paycheck to paycheck, but have budgeted enough to still pay bills and save $ 100/mo into a untouched savings account.

I have about $ 8000 in debt that I am paying on monthly (scheduled to be $ 0 balance by June 2013).

I have a 1997 Acura Integra that needs about $ 1000 worth of work. It run and I drive it every single day, but I need a new muffler and exhaust system. (The car is inadequately loud, but gets me A to B w/ no issues). I’ve thought about buying a used car (Acura RSX 2006 for $ 6-7000) but then I’d have no $ $ $ leftover.
Also, I’m extremely self conscious about my teeth and desperately want braces (not covered by my dental insurance) estimated at $ 3500. I want Lasik, too, estimated at $ 3500.

What would be the best way to use this $ 7000 to better my overall situation?

Best answers:

what is the average student loan interest rate

Fix your car – who cares what it looks like
That $ 8,000 debt sounds like credit card debt. Pay some off and cut up the cards
But keep some emergency savings.
Credit card debt is revolving debt – perilous for credit ratings.
Plus, I am sure you are paying a high interest rate on it
The teeth and the eyes will have to wait
Fix the car first, doesn’t matter what it looks like… As long as it runs fine…
Keep paying off the credit card and classes…

Don’t spend it all yet, no reason to.

Here is my 2 cents lol

1) Get you car fixed first while you have the money (“X” out the thought of a new car) — $ 1,000

2) Save some secondly — $ 1,000

3) At least cut the debt down so that you can have it paid earlier than 06/2013 — $ 5,000

My thought process is if you say place the $ 5K on your debt your debt will be paid off sometime 2012 not 2013 .. and when the debt is paid off the money you’ve been paying towards this debt you can continue adding to your $ 1K you have in savings and get your dental work at a later date

Just my thoughts

Is your debt high interest? It sounds like you have a excellent plot to pay it off in only 2 years. That is pretty excellent.

If your debt is lower interest I would buy yourself a new car. Pay the car with cash but keep in mind your car insurance rates and gas mileage. Also check consumer reports for whether the car has been reliable for how ancient it is and for several years to come. Don’t hurt yourself more by buying a unreliable car ( example Ford focus)

If you have high interest pay off the debt and save several months for cash to buy a new car. Try to pay at least 1/2 the next car with cash and get a loan for the rest, if your credit is excellent enough. Otherwise pay with cash
