Should I drop out of Nursing School, or wait another year to take my NCLEX to get my RN?

The question

So I’m in an accelerated Master’s program, and it’s extremely extremely overwhelming. It’s just depressing sometimes because I barely get time to even sleep, and it absolutely consumes my life to a point where I feel sick of it all sometimes.

Anyway, so today my Adult Health Practicum (the clinical course) instructor told me that I was failing the course, but I could take this class again next year with my master’s-level courses.

So right now, I feel a bit ‘freer’ to do my other classes.

The only major downside is that I’d have to wait until May 2013 (as opposed to next year) to take my NCLEX. So it’ll be eons before I can really work as an RN.

Still, I invested a ton of money (not to mention took out thousands in student loans!) to go to Austin and buy all the books and uniforms and whatnot.

I just feel sad, and not sure what to do…

The question

I’m married with 2 kids. I have a BS in Biology with a minor in chemistry. There are no jobs in my field. The most high paying job was making $ 12.50 an hour. I want a career with fantastic job satisfaction and financially stability. I’m interested in allied health in PT….OT comes second. But i cant start the program until 2013! ill be like 32 when i end school. Can any body who is a pt or know a pt that could help me on this career choice? Is it going to be worth the money to go back to school with students loans? can i work while in school b/c i do have children? Do anyone know anyone who went to PT school with kids? Please Help?
